Life happens — no way around it.

We all have these things that creep into our world —
Unfortunate events that put a damper on an otherwise lovely day.

BUT, we can choose to turn things around, turn the negative into the positive.
LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE.

So here's the thing:

"BUT HERE'S THE THING" is a social word game about ATTITUDE.

Every day, somebody (you?) signs in and makes up a "thing."
A minor catastrophe. A small bit of misfortune.
Something that's contrary to having a nice day:

Here's the thing: My dog has fleas.

Throughout the day, people add to the story, turning the negative into the postive, and vice-versa:

On the bright side: With all that scratching, he's finally getting some exercise.
But here's the thing: Now I've got fleas too!
On the bright side: My dog and I have much more in common now.

And so on and so forth, ad infinitum.
One story each day; the first person to sign in gets to start it.

Oh yeah, and you get 60 seconds and 140 characters for each entry.
